    SQL commands are categorized into five types:

    • DDL (Data Definition Language): CREATE, ALTER, DROP, TRUNCATE
    • DML (Data Manipulation Language): SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE
    • DCL (Data Control Language): GRANT, REVOKE
    • TCL (Transaction Control Language): COMMIT, ROLLBACK, SAVEPOINT
